Dr. Jean DeMouthe holds degrees in Geology and Science Education from Humboldt State University (BS), San Francisco State University (MA), and the University of California at Berkeley (EdD). She teaches the courses, Preservation of Natural and Cultural Collections (M S 760) and Museum Collections Management and Registration (M S 794).
Currently, Dr. DeMouthe is Senior Collections Manager for Geology at the California Academy of Sciences, where she has worked more than 20 years. She is also a consulting engineering geologist. Dr. DeMouthe is an active member of a number of geologic and museum conservation organizations, and has published and lectured on various subjects related to geology and specimen conservation.
In 2005, Dr. DeMouthe published the book, Natural Materials: Sources, Properties and Uses.
